Senior Network Engineer:

Job Description:
Our client, a prominent player in the Financial Technology sector, is seeking a Senior level Network Engineer. This role requires an individual adept in a fast-paced, challenging, and high-uptime environment. Key responsibilities include managing a diverse task list, performing duties outside regular hours (including nights and weekends), proactive problem-solving, and maintaining professionalism in high-pressure situations.

Essential Functions:
Handle Client, Vendor, and internal communications via Email and IM.
Oversee workload and backlog through a ticketing system.
Monitor and maintain network monitoring tools, acting as an internal authority.
Participate and organize meetings for project work or incident resolutions.
Follow up on all open tasks and project-related work.
Stay attuned to the business needs, prioritizing critical day-to-day functions and uptime.

Required Experience:
12-15 years in logical networking, preferably in financial technology.
7 years in colocation DATA CENTER and hardware data center deployment.
5 years in client-facing technical roles.
Significant experience (7-10 years) in Financial Market Data Feed support, venue connectivity, Cisco Nexus, IOS, Arista EOS, and OSPF.
Proficiency in TCP/IP communication, BGP Peering, network integration, and tools like Wireshark.
Network Management experience using tools like Solar Winds Orion (5 years).
Firewall management (5 years) and Cisco ASA/FPR firewalls (3 years).
Strong troubleshooting skills and project management experience.
Linux Operational experience (3-5 years).

Competencies:
Independent project and issue resolution.
Professional communication skills.
Ability to follow directions and execute work autonomously.

Hardware:
Expertise in Cisco Nexus, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco FPR, PALO ALTO, F5 LTM, and Juniper QFX5100, SRX 1500.

Tools:
Proficiency in Solar Winds Orion NPM and NCM, WireShark.

Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or related.
Network technical certificates.
Experience in a company with an in-house development team.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with occasional nights and weekends.

Travel:
Regional office travel required, up to 25%. Occasional out-of-state travel (1-3 weeks a year).
