Job Description

Our client is looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Developer to join their team. This role will work in a hybrid model, spending three days a week at the client's downtown loop office. The role is contract to hire. 

Work authorization: US Citizen or Green Card 


Responsibilities:

Data Visualization (60%):

  • Design, upkeep, and management of advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and other BI solutions.
  • Responsibility as the firm's Tableau subject-matter-expert.
  • Development and implementation of design principles in Tableau or PowerBI.
  • Maintenance and optimization of complex workbooks and large datasets for optimal performance.
  • Translation of the analytic needs of the firm into meaningful and actionable data visualizations.
  • Execution of data analysis and validations.
  • Evaluation and improvement of internal data processes and systems.
  • Support internal team members' drive to increase data literacy via communications, learning sessions, and other interactions.
  • Training team members on the organization and interpretation of collected data.
  • Compilation of large, complex data sets that fulfill functional / non-functional business requirements.
  • Understanding of the company's data platform and its integration within the overall technical architecture.
  • Completion of related projects as assigned.


Data Engineering, ETL, and Azure Data Factory (40%):

  • Collaboration with stakeholders and teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
  • Work with data and analytics experts to achieve enhanced functionality in our data systems.
  • Development and maintenance of optimal data pipeline architecture using Azure Data Factory.
  • Execution of extraction, transformation, and loading of data from various sources.
  • Maintenance of ETL Process Management, and ETL Testing.
  • Use of Data Models to define the transformation and presentation layers of the data pipelines.
  • Execution of data cleaning, structuring/mapping in the staging layer.
  • Continuous improvement and documentation of processes and procedures in line with best practices and minimizing resource waste.


Qualifications:

  • 3 or more years of experience in developing Tableau driven dashboards, analytics.
  • Proficiency as an ETL developer and writing complex SQL Queries.
  • Ability to interpret technical or dashboard structure and translate complex business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Working knowledge of Tableau administration/architecture.
  • Advanced SQL knowledge, relational database management systems, and data modeling.
  • Prior experience with building and optimizing data pipelines in Azure Data Factory, architectures, and data sets.
  • Experience in Power BI is considered a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience with object-oriented/object function scripting languages: Python, Java, C++, Scala, etc. is a plus.
  • Experience working in a dynamic environment, supporting and working with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience handling private and sensitive personal information.
  • Proficiency in using necessary databases and software, with strong computer skills.
  • Ability to meet milestones and handle multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in data warehousing solutions and ETL tools.
  • Proficiency in database design, data definition, data dictionary, and related concepts.
  • Understanding of Machine Learning.
  • Ability to leverage data APIs.
  • Understanding of app/dev & SDLC.
  • Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.

 

 This is a hybrid role. This role is to be filled outside the states of California and Colorado.
