Project Manager / Business Analyst

Our client is hiring an IT Infrastructure & Cybersecurity Business Analyst (BA) in the Technology Product & Strategy department of a dynamic alternative investment management firm. The BA will work closely with the Product Manager, vendors, and engineering teams in IT Infrastructure and Cybersecurity to deliver solutions that:

§ Modernize our infrastructure and end-user technology landscape

§ Enhance our Cybersecurity program

 

The BA ensures that solutions we design and/or implement maintain alignment with strategic product goals and deliver intended value. BA’ s perform solution analysis and documentation, decompose work into applicable stories, and are responsible for project management activities for their team(s).

§ Adoption of Windows 2019 (on-premise and cloud-hosted)

§ Unified communications platform re-engineering

§ Windows Virtual Desktop solution roll-out

§ Global Wide Area Network (WAN) and in-office WIFI redesign

§ OneDrive and SharePoint file migration (from on-premise file servers)

§ A modern SIEM (Security Information and Event Management platform) deployment

§ A vulnerability and threat management program reset

RESPONSIBILITIES

The individual will be involved in the following critical activities:

§ Define and document requirements and processes that will meet intended goals and objectives

§ Understand project goals and manage the successful delivery of projects/initiatives to completion, including coordination and communication amongst various stakeholders

§ Assist engineers in crafting creative and technically-sound solutions to meet strategic objectives

§ Participate in, and at times lead, build vs. buy vs. partner decisions

§ Define and analyze solution options that balance value, usability, and technical feasibility

§ Create project plans that set milestones, identify dependencies, and communicate progress

§ Develop timely reports describing projects, deliverables and other metrics (e.g., performance, support) by analyzing and compiling data from JIRA and ServiceNow

§ Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors through implementation and rollout

§ Advocate for the user community through understanding of their roles, responsibilities, and processes

§ Handle internal and external communications and internal coordination related to Production issues

 

 

EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

The ideal experience and critical competencies for the role include the following:

§ Bachelor’ s degree or equivalent relevant experience

§ 2+ years of experience as a BA for custom development and/or vendor implementations

§ Experience in the infrastructure, end-user technology, and/or cybersecurity landscapes desired

§ Effective communication and ability to synthesize complex concepts for various audiences

§ Data-driven and detail-oriented decision making with affinity for tinkering with data and reporting tools

§ Powerful analytical skillset and can motivate others to share your vision and enthusiasm

§ Demonstrated team player, self-starter, and independent thinker

§ Adaptable, dependable, and dedicated to your products and team

§ Excellent interpersonal skills and work ethic
