Job Description

The Manager of Application Development Leads a team of Full Stack .NET Developers and is responsible for creating and maintaining company software solutions to meet Security, Industry Standard, Functional, Performance, and Availability goals. A manager is responsible for the success of his team. Including, but not limited to, supporting, mentoring, organizing, leading, and coaching them to ensure they are successful, while ensuring their team follows company & IT standards, practices, process, procedures, and rules. A manager will also be responsible for working collaboratively with other departments and other teams to ensure the best possible results. This position will also have the responsibility of monitoring and reviewing existing software solutions and provide recommendations for improvement. Furthermore, this role requires strong problem solver skills with the ability to research and resolve any arising issues.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  Other duties and tasks may be assigned.

  • Utilize established development tools, guidelines and conventions including but not limited to ASP.NET, MS Power Apps, T-SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and C#.

  • Prepare and maintain code for various internal applications and investigate and resolve any defects.

  • Enhance existing applications by analyzing business objectives and identifying areas for modification and improvement.

  • Investigate and develop skills in new technologies.

  • Coach team members on performance and best practices

  • Learn, operate, and maintain critical legacy infrastructure

  • Monitors industry trends and directions and develops and presents substantive technical recommendations to management.

  • Be available, as needed, should critical software issues arise.

  • Write documentation and SOPs for future use. 

  • Actively promote best customer service standards; develop effective relationships at all levels of the organization.

  • Describe, organize, plan, and distribute work to remote team members on a regular basis

  • Participate in team concepts and promote a team effort; perform duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.

  • Regular and reliable attendance is required for the job.

  • Participates in long range strategy, planning, prioritization, and scheduling for the product and department work flow.

  • Peer review application code to ensure standards and quality are being maintained.

  • Candidates will see an application through its lifecycle from concept, to production, and ongoing warranty and enhancements.

  • An ideal candidate will be an independent self-starter with the ability to analyze, describe, implement, deliver, and reiterate a given task. Additionally, a candidate will need to be a strong problem solver with the ability to research and resolve a given issue.

Qualifications/Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Requirements include:

  • 5+ years of experience leading a team of software developers 

  • 5+ years of experience in .NET programing. 

  • 2+ years of experience with Git 

  • Experience with 

    • Full stack web development

    • HTML/CSS/C#/.Net/.Net Core/Javascript

    • Microsoft T-SQL

    • Microservices

    • ORMs (e.g. Entity Framework)

    • Web framework:  React / Bootstrap

    • Web patterns: MVVM / SPA 

    • REST API / ODATA

    • Responsive web apps 

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Care Administration, Business, or equivalent experience, preferred. 

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Minimal travel/overnight travel may be required.  (up to 25% of time)

  • Noise level in the typical work environment is moderate due to the number of staff in the business office area and staff/patients/equipment in patient care areas.
