Manager, Cloud (Engineering) Operations

Job Summary:

The Manager of Cloud Operations will play a critical role in overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of our cloud infrastructure and operations. This role is responsible for leading a team of cloud engineers and ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud-based systems. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with a strong background in cloud technologies, team leadership experience, and a passion for delivering top-notch cloud services.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers to achieve operational excellence.

• Develop and implement cloud infrastructure strategies, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

• Oversee cloud resource provisioning, scaling, and lifecycle management.

• Establish and enforce operational processes, best practices, and compliance standards.

• Develop and maintain incident response plans, ensuring quick and effective resolution of cloud-related incidents.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to address and mitigate operational issues.

• Collaborate with cloud service providers and vendors.

• Optimize cloud costs by identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing cost control measures.

• Monitor and analyze cloud usage and spending, making recommendations for optimization. 

• Stay updated on cloud technologies and industry trends.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's degree preferred).

• 5+ years of experience in cloud operations, with 2+ in a leadership role.

• Proficiency with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools.

• Strong understanding of DevOps principles.

• Exceptional problem-solving and communication skills.

• Azure Administrator, Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator or AWS Certified Solutions Architect a plus.
