Job Description

The Information Security Analyst Intern is an individual with hands-on technical
understanding of information security, enterprise security solutions, and security
threats. This position assists with monitoring and supporting enterprise security
solutions, such as enterprise endpoint security, email security platform, as well as
enforcing security policies to control access to systems and applications. The person assists the security team in improving the security measures, user awareness program, maintaining and enforcing security policies, and ensuring compliance.

Ideal Internship Candidate: Pursuing a BS in Cybersecurity and headed into Junior year anticipating a May 2026 graduation date. This is paid & remote internship up to 20 hours per week. 
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Under the guidance of organization’s CISO and in collaboration with
Information Security Architect (SE), work with the team to provide vision and
guidelines with applicable regulations and cybersecurity frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, PCI DSS, NIST 800).
2. Collaborate to develop and implement appropriate policies, procedures, and
reporting metrics to ensure the security controls and compliance requirements are met.
3. Administrating, maintaining, monitoring, and reporting of appropriate enterprise
security solutions, including but not limited to endpoint security (EDR), data leakage prevention (DLP), access control, email security, and vulnerability scanners.
4. Participate in internal security audits and risk analysis to identify weaknesses, assess the effectiveness of existing controls, and recommend remedial actions.
5. Research and maintain effective knowledge of emerging technologies and provide guidance to management for strategic planning.
6. Stay current and up to date with latest security news, threats, and applicable
regulations. Protect the internal and external environments and the organization’s
global network against emerging threats and risks.
7. Respond to internal users’ security questions/concerns, external audit requests, customers’ assessments, and appropriate compliance requirements.
8. Write technical reports as needed to communicate applicable security incidents
and/or potential risks.
9. Work individually and in a team environment. Multitask and use time efficiently to meet project/task deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Required Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities
• Pursuing university degree in Information Security, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology (or equivalent of education and work experience).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and relevant regulatory requirements
• Technical understanding of IP networking, data centers, and disaster recovery
• Technical understanding of systems, applications, and databases
• Excellent communication skills at all organizational levels
• High level of personal integrity and ability to professionally handle confidential
matters
• Capable of acting calmly and managing incidents under high pressure and stress
• Capable of multitasking in a fast paced, multifaceted environment
• Ability to work well with customers, peers, and management
• Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, and SharePoint
