Job Description

As a Database Analyst (DBA), you will play a crucial role in supporting the Unified Data Infrastructure project and ensuring the availability, accessibility, and accuracy of our data environment. Your primary responsibility will be to design, implement, and maintain database solutions that support the organization's reporting and analytics needs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Database Management: Manage and optimize databases to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, and security.
  • Data Infrastructure Support: Support the design and implementation of the Unified Data Infrastructure project to address current infrastructure limitations and improve reporting capabilities.
  • Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, conduct performance tuning, and implement optimizations to enhance system efficiency.
  • Data Integration: Collaborate with Data Engineers and other team members to integrate raw data sources into the data environment, potentially utilizing platforms like Databricks.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement and maintain backup and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce data security protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Documentation: Maintain documentation of database schemas, configurations, and procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure operational continuity.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including non-BI and senior team members, to understand data requirements and implement solutions that meet business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 4-6 years of experience as a Database Analyst (DBA) or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of database management principles, data warehousing, and ETL processes.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL), SQL querying, performance tuning, and database security best practices.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot database issues and optimize database performance.
  • Team Collaboration: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage database-related projects, prioritize tasks, and deliver solutions on time and within budget.
