Job Description

Join our dynamic Data Office as we build a top-tier data team dedicated to tackling complex business challenges and enhancing our business and client experiences. We are seeking a forward-thinking Data Analyst with a talent for uncovering insights in extensive data sets within the Commercial line of business. This role demands expertise in creating cohesive business user experiences and generating actionable insights that drive growth. You will collaborate directly with senior leaders, including the CEO of Commercial Lending, Chief Data Officer, and Chief Financial Officer, to assess and interpret their reporting needs. Your role involves designing and implementing reporting solutions tailored to these needs. Utilizing a variety of data query and visualization tools (such as SQL, Power BI, SAS), you will access diverse data sources to craft insightful products for our business partners. You will also work with a range of teams, each bringing unique perspectives, to develop impactful solutions for the bank and our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Data Analytics Development:

    • Create consistent dashboards, reports, and analytics experiences for business users.
    • Translate business requirements into technical specifications and develop reports to support decision-making.
    • Utilize DAX queries and functions in Power BI to enhance reporting capabilities.
  2. Power BI Report Development:

    • Design and implement dashboards and reports to provide a unified analytics experience for business users.
    • Develop data models to convert raw data into actionable insights, using Power BI for report generation.
  3. Data Extraction and Transformation:

    • Collaborate with business users to gather requirements, identify data sources, and prepare data through SQL or SAS for use in Power BI dashboards or other systems.
    • Create custom diagrams and user-defined calculations as needed, and develop business intelligence solutions with SQL for performance improvement and data understanding.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
  • Banking and finance experience is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in developing analytics reports and dashboards, preferably with Power BI.
  • 3-5 years of experience in creating data extracts.
  • Proficiency in SQL, SAS, R, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Expertise in data visualization techniques.
  • Experience with the Microsoft BI Stack, especially Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, and Azure services.
  • Proven use of analytics to drive company growth and improve key business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in analytics.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience with project management and agile methodologies is preferred.
  • Ability to engage with C-level executives and support data culture change initiatives.
  • Familiarity with banking systems and tools (e.g., MeridianLink/LoansPQ, Encompass, Velocify, Fiserv Signature, Marquis Executrax MCIF) is a plus.
