IT Support Engineer

 

An Engineer is part of a team responsible for the global corporate computing environment.  The position and majority of responsibilities are locally based, but remote support is also required for employees and systems in remote locations.  This position requires technical proficiency as well as an eager attitude, professionalism, and solid communication skills.

Core Duties

• Mastery, assistance and mentoring with core IT Analyst duties

• AD Administration – AD configuration, monitoring, and provisioning

• Cisco VOIP Administration

• Patch Management – Using Altiris, WSUS, and other tools

• Antivirus – Symantec endpoint protection; server and desktop

• Altiris – Image construction, casting, software deployment and reporting

• Microsoft Exchange – Server and client configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting

• VMWare – maintaining virtual server environments

• Broker and Trading Floor Technology Support - New York and London-based IT Engineers will maintain trading floor and broker desk technology including turret phones, tablet computers, wireless networking, proprietary tools, and data display support

Exceptional Performer Competencies

• Documents and effectively publishes IT Engineer responsibilities and repeatable processes 

• Mentors IT Analysts and Engineers in groups and individually

• Organizes weekly peer conference calls and documents minutes

• Takes initiative to learn and perform Senior IT Engineer core dutie

Desirable Skills and Experience

• College degree in Engineering, MIS, CIS, or related discipline

• 3-5 years hands-on experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Windows desktop/server troubleshooting

• Mac and UNIX Familiarity

• Experience in an exchange, trading facility, or financial services
