Data Management

The Data Management Team is a component of the Investor Partners Group (“ IPG”) that is

responsible for making data readily available in order to empower and simplify the IPG’ s ability

to make data-driven decisions. The team collaborates closely with other IPG Teams and

Technology Solutions (“ TS”) to support the department in developing and executing plans in

line with Firm objectives.

 

The primary focus of the Data Analyst role will be to:

− Oversee day-to-day monitoring and enforce data management efforts across IPG

− Collaborate with Data Management Team and TS to implement solutions to maintain data

integrity such as dashboards, status reports and data clean-up scripts

− Design and validate reports used for data monitoring, performance and management

metrics

− Perform independent analysis on large sets of data for various purposes including

identifying opportunities for improvement, manipulating data for reporting purposes or

troubleshooting data issues.

− Gain an intimate understanding of various data requirements across the department in

order to effectively translate business needs into technical solutions.

− Participate in regular CRM enhancement releases by working closely with user groups to

formulate, document and implement solutions for data-related enhancements or issues

arising from changes in business needs, system updates or data policy.

− Analyze external data sources and provide recommendations for integration and

enrichment of existing data

− Participate in data clean-up initiatives which includes constructing advanced data quires

and coordinating with other teams to scrub sales data

− Test application updates to validate that they meet the team’ s business needs

 

Qualifications & Experience:

− Bachelor’ s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field with 5-10 years of experience in

data technology, preferably in a financial services environment

− Demonstrated experience with database technologies, data modeling, ETL or business

intelligence tools. A plus if experience is with SQL Server 2012 or higher, SSIS, and / or

SQL Server Management Studio.

− Strong proficiency in Excel is required with prior experience analyzing and replacing end

user-developed systems and reports in Excel, Access, etc.

− Experience designing and building complex reports. Hands-on experience with Data

Warehouse Design, Microsoft PowerBI or Qlik is a plus.

− Direct experience working within all phases of the SDLC or strong working knowledge of

software development

− Ability to think big picture and constantly visualize end user experience. Client-oriented

with strong communication and relationship management skills.

− Motivated by a fast-paced, complex environment with the ability to manage changing

priorities and meet aggressive deadlines

− Ability to take initiative and work independently, while demonstrating strong teamwork

− Strong communication skills and analytical abilities, and meticulous attention to detail are

a must
