Position Overview:

The Chicago based Business Research Analyst will be primarily focused on using advanced research techniques to create professional data visualizations of client organization and service relationships they have with our client. The right individual will be a part of a team focused on intelligence gathering analysis and creating actionable insight on client’ s organization structure via public records and filings.

 

This role is expected to quickly become a subject matter expert on the clients’ organization and service structure as it is depicted within our internal registration systems, CRM systems and our data warehouses.   Working with other project analysts the role will produce professional reports and visualizations consumed by a variety of audiences from highly technical teams to senior leadership at the Managing Director level.

 

Principle Accountabilities:
  • Research corporate structures
  • Identify legal hierarchies from public information.
  • Compare findings against internal systems and identify matches and discrepancies
  • Prepare recommendations for remediation actions for appropriate business owners.
  • Document findings, tools used, approach taken and recommendations.
  • Facilitate remediation meetings between various business owners
  • Obtain agreement on solution
  • Prepare documents to capture decisions made and work with IT liaison to make changes in appropriate systems
  • Resolve discrepancies independently and demonstrate a keen eye for appropriate detail.

 

Requirements:
  • Detailed orientation
  • Inquisitive nature, presence and drive to solve problems
  • Demonstratable skills in area of corporate research and structure
  • Solid presentation, presentation creation and writing skills
  • Undergraduate degree in business administration or related field
  • 5+ years of research and analytics work with context in capital markets experience a plus.

 

Skills:
  • Proficient in business research, use of public and third party organization tools like – Google, Hoovers, Lexis-Nexis, Dun and Bradstreet, SEC and government websites for corporate filings and public documents
  • Competent in Tableau, PowerBI or other data visualization software tools, excellent mastery of MS Office Visio, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
  • Proficient in presenting complex data in visual and meaningful ways to senior leadership up to Managing Director levels
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
