This is a hands-on position in our Back Office Technology Team focused on our in-house proprietary applications, third party vendor systems, and vendor management across several key Accounting functions. The role includes business analysis, project management, quality assurance, functional design, application support, vendor management and any other duties related to the usage of these applications.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated recent experience as a Business Analyst, interacting with users, working with a development team, writing business requirements, functional specifications, process flows, and writing and executing test plans. The candidate should have excellent problem-solving skills, an inquisitive nature, a passion for excellent service, the ability to self-start and be resourceful, and a very strong understanding of technology. Since this is a client-facing role, which requires communication with users at all levels, exceptional verbal and written communication skills are paramount.
− Become an expert in the line of business applications utilized by the Fund Administration, Financial Reporting, and other back office business teams.
− Gain a deep understanding of the business processes that utilize those systems and existing process or system pain points, and identify opportunities to further leverage technology to increase productivity, quality, and analytics for the back office functions.
− Participate in problem analysis with business users and identify software solutions, enhancements and system integration opportunities that will create efficiency, improve quality, or mitigate risk.
− Independent, hands on data analysis using SQL, Excel pivot tables and other data extraction, analysis, and reporting methods.
− Understand data organization and relationships and create entity relationship diagrams. − Analyze and document business process flows using swim lanes or other standard tools and templates. − Build strong, productive working relationships with our users.
− Provide maintenance break/fix support for applications, triage support issues, and manage issue resolution across in-house developers and third party vendors on behalf of end users.
− Develop and execute comprehensive test plans. Identify improvements to the testing processes to further drive quality deliverables for end users.
− Demonstrate flexibility by adjusting priorities to respond to changing internal/external demands in a very fast paced, growth environment.
− Analyze and document business and technical requirements. − Programming experience and data analysis using SQL a plus.
Candidate Requirements Qualifications & Experience:
− Bachelor’ s Degree in Computer Science, Business or a related field is required with a minimum 3-5 years of experience with software applications is required, preferably in Financial Services supporting back office functions.
− Strong analytical skills to digest, document and translate business requirements for in-house development or customizing/configuring third-party software products is required.
− Experience in integration between different systems is a strong plus.
− Proficiency with Excel is required, with prior experience analyzing and replacing end user developed systems in Excel, Access, etc.
− Delivery oriented with very high quality and customer service standards.
− Must be motivated by a fast paced, complex environment.
− Must have working knowledge and prior experience with all phases of the SDLC in a teamoriented, structured yet agile, model.
